The middle Keys from Islamorada through Marathon is has several private docks that make for great photos. Once you're in the Keys, U.S. 1 becomes the Overseas Highway, designated with little green mile-marker signs on the side of the highway. They begin just south of Florida City with number 127 and run all the way down to zero in Key West. Locals use them as address references — here's a quick guide:

This 300 foot dock located at the SeaShell Beach Resort in Marathon (mile marker 57.5) was made famous by the television show Flipper. The 2 best time to photograph this dock is sunset and high noon but it MUST be high tide. The provided tides table gives an example of suitable days when high tide and sunset correlates to similar conditions when this photo was taken. At low tide, exposed seaweed extends from the beach to the end of the dock. The ideal conditions for SeaShell Beach Resort Pier is when high tide and sunset match one another. Free tide reports can be found under the "Maps and Resources" tab located in the black bar at the top of the screen. SeaShell Beach Resort Pier faces 160 degrees if you time high tide with high noon during the long summer months a clear blue water photo can be taken.
